EP: Some Introductory ReadingsThe readings that follow are not intended to exhaust the bibliography of Exploratory Practice, but they should provide a helpful introduction to the topic. Section 1, with some unpublished handouts, some of them originally designed as OHT masters, which should offer a quick introduction to the basic ideas involved. Section 2 attempts to situate EP both geographically (ie originally in Brazil), and conceptually (ie as a contribution in the area of professional development) as well as describe what it involves. Section 3 develops the practical description of EP to show how the ideas can be used in different ways in different circumstances. Section 5 brings the classroom research agenda of interest in understanding the socially conditioned nature of classroom behaviour together with the principles and practices of EP to show how they could perhaps work in harmony. Section 6 returns to the fundamental notion of EP that 'understanding' is key, even when (or perhaps especially when) we are living in a climate where rapid change is seen as both inevitable and desirable. Section 7 concludes the collection with an extended, but still selective, bibliography for anyone interested in pursuing their reading beyond these introductory pieces.
