Our Language PolicyWe will post EP-related materials in any language and hope that if anyone needs a translation, they will be able to get it done locally or request help from EP colleagues via epcentrerio@hotmail.com or EP Contacts. We were prompted to formalise this policy when we realised that we were operating under the implicit assumption that material needed to be made available in English. Taking the case of the EP Rio group, although a wealth of EP activity has been taking place for many years now in Rio de Janeiro, organised, conducted and reported in Portuguese as well as English, we have collectively understood that posting any material from the group would most often be delayed until translations into English have been available. We now feel our website should post EP-related materials in Portuguese as soon as they are made available by the EP Group in Rio, rather than wait for anyone to have the time to provide translations. But clearly we do not wish to assume that the issue will arise only in relation to Portuguese and so we have worded the above general language policy statement to avoid reference to any particular language.
