Editor's Note
Happy New Year! We start 2003
with a new EP Newsletter. As usual, these things take much longer to complete
than we would like; it would be nice to produce this newsletter every 3
months or so, but with so much going on, and so many exciting things happening
around the world, it is proving impossible to churn out the writing and
the texts in more than a bi-annual feast. The good news is that EP is thriving
as a world movement, the thinking is going further and deeper in a very
satisfying way, and our links with colleagues in countries around the world
are strengthened and extended. Hopefully the sections here will give a
flavour of the ongoing work in such a wide variety of situations.
A few words about the new layout:
we have tried to design the layout of this Newsletter to make it easy to
navigate. We aim to fit the genre of “Newsletter”, and have therefore reduced
our many categories down to a few dominant ones. Under the umbrella heading
of each section, we hope to expand on the information given, and allow
space for complexities. We also aim to link between pages, so that, for
example, while the “News” section contains minimal information (who, what,
when, where, why), links can be made to fuller, more expanded, sections
elsewhere, eg supporting documents in “Library” or “Thinking in Progress”.
My thanks are due to all those
who have helped with this newsletter - especially Dick, Ines, Morag and
Zongjie in the EPCentre Team, and Rupert Herrington. Without their enthusiasm,
commentary, information, and "expertise", none of this could have happened!
Hope it works well: your comments
are welcome!
